Another shooting reported in Alexandria

A 37-year-old man is being treated for injuries and another man is being held for questioning.

Another shooting has taken place in Alexandria. A 37-year-old man was shot multiple times and is being treated for his injuries while a second man, a 38-year-old, is being held for questioning, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

The police department was called to an area on the 500 block of Oak Street at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, for a report of two people who appeared to be fighting. The person who called in the incident then heard what was described as gun shots, according to a press release.

The 37-year-old reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds and is being treated for his injuries.

Police Chief Scott Kent said it was an isolated incident, not related to the previous shooting that took place less than two weeks ago and that there is no danger to the public at this time.

In the Dec. 11 shooting, Jacob Donavan Nelson, 34, of Alexandria, has been charged in the shooting of Joshua Robles, 24, ‌of Osakis.

Tuesday's shooting is under investigation and more details will be released at a later time.
