The last two weeks of action by the Cardinal wrestlers has not been for the faint of heart.
The Redbirds had one dual meet, one triangular, an eight-team invitational at Buffalo and now a nine-team invitational at Monticello on Saturday.
They came through the last competition with a 3-1 record, demonstrating the depth on the Alexandria roster.

"Going into the tournament with the teams that were at Monticello, we knew it would be a tough day," said Cardinal head coach Tom Ellison. "We didn't wrestle with our full lineup all day.
"I thought our team responded well without some of our regular guys in the lineup. Some of our JV wrestlers had to step in and fill some varsity spots.
"Josh Hobbs, Jake Haan, Adam Patrick and Cole Ellison all saw varsity action during the day," he added. "It will come in handy later this season and seasons to come as we get as many wrestlers varsity experience as we can."
After a flurry of matches the last two weeks, Ellison was pleased that his team came through in good health.
"This week will give us an opportunity to rest up and get back to some basics in the practice room," he said. "We don't have any competition until Friday when we travel to Moorhead."
Taylor Morical, Charlie Kirscht, Lucas Betterman, Tanner Weltzin, John Amundson, Nate Kelly and Tom Bouressa all went undefeated on the day, with Amundson recording his 150 career win, increasing his lead as the wrestler with the most wins in Cardinal history.
