Alexandria police respond to near-drowning at Holiday Inn

The child was transported by North Ambulance to Alomere Health in critical condition.

ALEXANDRIA — On Saturday, June 11, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Alexandria Police Department received a call about a boy drowning in the pool at Holiday Inn in Alexandria.

Upon arrival, the 6-year-old victim had been taken out of the pool and CPR was started.

The child was transported by North Ambulance to Alomere Health in critical condition.

Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

The investigation is active and ongoing, according to Police Chief Scott Kent.
