A father and son escaped injuries after their snowmobile fell through the ice of Lake Victoria east of Alexandria on Sunday, Jan. 24.

At 4:54 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report that James Jevnager, 32, of Alexandria and his son drove a snowmobile into the open water next to the Lake Victoria Fishing Pier.

The two were able to get themselves out of the water with no injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

North Memorial Ambulance also assisted on scene.
