A crash Saturday, Aug. 8, west of Alexandria caused a pickup pulling a trailer to roll into a ditch, killing the driver.
At 1:13 p.m. Saturday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 8.
Initial evidence suggests that a westbound GMC Yukon, driven by David Thoennes of Alexandria had entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a southbound Dodge pickup. Robert Kirscht, 47, of Brandon, was driving the pickup while Jeanine Kirscht, 48, of Brandon, was in the passenger's seat. The vehicles collided and rolled into the southwest ditch.
