An Alexandria man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Grant County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Mark Cairns, 53, of Alexandria was taken to a Fargo hospital Dec. 27 after the vehicle he was driving collided with the rear axle of a semi.
Cairns was driving a 2008 Ford pickup traveling north on Grant County Road 23. The Kenworth semi, driven by Paul Arnold, 60, of South Haven, was traveling westbound on Highway 27. The pickup entered the intersection and struck the semi, according to the report.
Arnold, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured. According to the state patrol, Cairns was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Responding to the scene included the state patrol, Hoffman Ambulance, LifeLink III and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
