The Best of the Lakes Area contest is back and this year, it is better than ever. We are shaking things up and the contest has a new twist.

Beginning Monday, July 8, you — our awesome readers and subscribers — will get to nominate your favorites. Once a day through Friday, Aug. 9, you can visit the Best of the Lake Area contest website and nominate your favorites in 33 different categories in the Eat/Drinks/Entertainment section and 54 categories in the Local Biz/Services section. Each day you nominate, your name gets put into a drawing for $250 in Chamber Bucks.

We will have a computer set up at the Echo Press for those who do not have internet access. Stop in to the Echo Press office, 225 7th Ave. E., during normal business hours (Mondays through Thursdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) to nominate your favorites.

Once the nomination period has ended, the results will be tallied and the top nominations will be eligible to be voted on.

The voting period will then take place starting on Friday, Aug. 23 and will run through Friday, Sept. 27. Those results will be tallied and then the winners will be notified by Friday, Oct. 11.

The Best of the Lakes Area magazine detailing who the winners are will be inserted into the Echo Press on Friday, Dec. 6.

So, who are you going to nominate for this year's Best of the Lakes Area?
