A crash between a tanker truck and a car on Highway 29 north of Alexandria sent four people to the hospital with non-critical injuries Tuesday morning, July 2.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 29 and County Road 38, the road to Lake Carlos State Park, just north of Carlos Corners shortly after 8 a.m.
A 2018 tanker driven by Jacob Suchy, 37, of Parkers Prairie was traveling east on County Road 38 and was turning left to go north on Highway 29. A 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Danelle Wittmer, 37, of Miltona, was southbound on Highway 29 when it struck the tanker, causing it to roll, according to the State Patrol.
Wittmer, who was extricated from the car, was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital. Three of her passengers,15-year-old Ethan, 9-year-old Bentley and 1-year-old Rhett, all with the last name of Wittmer and from Miltona, were taken to Alomere Health.
The State Patrol described all of the injuries as non-life-threatening.
Suchy was not injured.
Everyone in the crash was wearing seat belts.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, State Patrol, North Ambulance, Parkers Prairie Ambulance, and Carlos and Miltona Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
