Alexandria was bustling Sunday morning, as families and community members eagerly awaited the arrival of the Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train at Eighth Avenue and Nokomis Street on Dec. 13.

Alexandria was bustling Sunday morning, as families and community members eagerly awaited the arrival of the Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train at Eighth Avenue and Nokomis Street on Dec. 13.

This year's performers included Canadian country music singer Kira Isabella, as well as Canadian county band Doc Walker, which has had more than 20 top 10 singles on the charts.

The CP Holiday Train travels through dozens of cities in Canada and the U.S. to raise food and cash donations for food banks in North America. The CP Holiday Train encourages heart-healthy donations.

U.S. states on this year's tour route include New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and North Dakota.
