The body of a missing trapper has been identified as Danny Leonard Tucker, 63, of Kensington.
He was identified by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office and the cause of death is listed as drowning, according to an updated news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Monday night.
At around noon on Friday, November 13, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were asked to complete a welfare check on Tucker. He had a history of health issues and had not been seen for about three weeks.
Deputies learned through further investigation that the male was a known trapper, which led them to a slough near East Lake Mary Road southwest of Alexandria. A local conservation officer checked the slough with his own kayak and located Tucker's body partially submerged in the water next to a small kayak and trapping equipment.
No foul play is suspected.
