The need for speed.

That's what drivers craved during the fourth annual Leaf Valley Speed Rally that took place Saturday on north Lake Miltona at the Sandy Beach public access.

The event featured more than 40 classes ranging from Kitty Kat to open fuel snowmobiles and included ATVs and motorcycles.

At times, the action was a blur.

The fastest drivers of the day and their top speed, as recorded by radar in miles per hour, were Duane Harden at 145.72 and at 135.95 and Andy Mounsdon at 135.37.

They received a trophy for their efforts and the top three places in each class also received trophies.

All proceeds from the event went to the Leaf Valley Game and Conservation Club.
