Patricia Ann Torfin, 56, Alexandria, died May 26, 2008 at her home, surrounded by family.
Patricia was born February 19, 1952 in Marshall to Harold and Patricia (McKay) Boerboom. She spent summers on the shores of Lake Amelia in Villard, where she met Grant Torfin. She graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis in 1970. On June 23, 1973 she married Grant and they shared 35 wonderful years together. They are the proud parents of their three sons, Aaron, Adam and Andrew.
Patty was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She took tremendous pride in providing a feeling of home for her family. Patty loved to cook and host family gatherings. As the boys grew, she assisted in teaching Sunday school and participating in various other church activities. She possessed a strong, enduring Christian faith. As the boys were completing school she returned to work. She developed many lasting friendships with co-workers in her 11 years with Unicel. Patty enjoyed reading, music, crocheting, shopping and traveling. Most of all, she valued time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Grant Torfin of Alexandria; sons, Aaron Torfin of Alexandria, Adam (Suzanne) Torfin of New York City, NY, Andrew Torfin of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Mikayla and Ashton Torfin of Browerville; parents, Harold and Pat Boerboom of Glenwood; brother, Thomas (Colleen) Boerboom of Richfield; sisters, Pam (Steve) Gligor of Maple Grove, Kathy (John) Nicosia of Cottage Grove, Debbie (Greg) Solum of Fort Meyers, FL; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held Friday, May 30, at First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Randy Morken was organist and Tara Reichmann was soloist. Interment was at Lake Amelia Cemetery near Villard. Casket bearers were Aaron Torfin, Adam Torfin, Andrew Torfin, Tom Boerboom, Ron Reichmann and Matthew Reichmann.
