United Way Mobile Food Drop goes on despite Covid-19 concerns

More than 230 people registered to pick up free food, compared to a typical average of about 150 to 175. United Way staff and volunteers took special precautions due to the spread of Covid-19, such as maintaining a six-foot distance from each other and having food recipients drive up and open their doors or trunk before returning to their vehicles while food was loaded. The next Food Drop event is scheduled for April 30. (Lowell Anderson / Echo Press)
