ALEXANDRIA — A competition at the Viking Plaza Mall brought many martial arts enthusiasts and students from throughout the region into Alexandria on Saturday, March 25.
About 120 martial arts students from the Alexandria area, as well as Moorhead, Fargo, Fergus Falls and the Twin Cities, competed in the event. Students came from 11 martial arts schools and ranged in age from 5 to 40 years old.

The event, which was hosted by Dragon Martial Arts Academy in Alexandria, was held in the old Herberger's store in the mall and was open to the public. Organizers estimate that including participants, families and spectators, the event brought around 400 to 500 people to the mall on Saturday.
Included in the competition were forms, sparring, weapons, and board and brick breaking.

Dragon Martial Arts Academy is located in the old Payless store in the Viking Plaza Mall.
