ALEXANDRIA — Let's Go Fishing is offering free training for volunteers who want to help seniors, veterans, youth, and people with physical challenges be able to get onto the water.
They ask all new, prospective and returning volunteers to attend one of two sessions, which are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, and 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum Boathouse.
Some people who want to go onto a lake want to fish, while others just want to be on the water, and the organization says being able to get out on a lake brings them happiness.
Each year, the organization needs volunteer captains and assistants to meet the growing demand.
