A horse trainer who turns his work into messages for life and leadership will be in Alexandria on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 13-14.

Sponsored by The Church in the Pines in Alexandria, Lew Sterrett of Oklahoma will present his "Sermon on the Mount" sessions at 6:30 p.m. both evenings in an indoor arena at 5659 County Road 34 one mile south of Carlos Creek Winery.

The July 13 session is titled "First Ride" and the July 14 session is titled "How To Turn Defeat Into Victory"

A free-will offering will be taken, with all proceeds going to Sermon on the Mount ministry.

The sessions focus on healthy relationships and achieving harmony and success in life. Sterrett will work with his own horses, plus a couple of local horses that have already been chosen for the event.

The arena holds about 500 people. There are bleachers, said property owner Cindy Giroux, but people can also bring chairs if they wish.

This will be a return trip to the Alexandria area for the trainer, who conducts similar events across the country. Giroux said he was at the Douglas County Fairgrounds nine years ago.

For more information, contact Giroux at 320-491-6755.
