Two Alexandria dentist offices are joining 100 Minnesota dental clinics in offering free dental care to children in need.
Children will be able to get exams, cleanings, fluoride varnishes, sealants, x-rays and fillings at Dentistry at the Center, 2306 S. Broadway, Suite No. 4, on Friday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. To make an appointment, call 320-762-5216.
Dean R. Anderson Dentistry, 1400 Hawthorne St., #2, is providing services to children again this year on Friday, Jan. 24.
More than 1,200 dental professionals are volunteering for the event, called Give Kids a Smile, said the Minnesota Dental Association.

Patients must be 18 years or younger and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Tooth decay is the most chronic disease of children and adolescents, and nearly one in five children aged 5-11 has untreated cavities in their baby teeth, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than half of Minnesota children enrolled in Medicaid have not received dental services in the past year.
Minnesota ranks among the lowest in the nation for reimbursement of government dental program fees.
