Live music will once again fill the Alexandria Senior Center when musician Mikko Cowdery performs at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18.

Weekly concerts and monthly dances had been a staple for the senior center until COVID shot everything down.

That a concert is scheduled doesn't mean that everything is back to normal, though. Seating will be at limited capacity due to COVID restrictions, and all staff and visitors must wear masks, wash their hands and follow social distancing.

The center said it's fitting that Cowdery should usher in a new musical season as he last perform at the center on Sunday, March 15, 2020, the day before the Senior Center temporarily shut its doors due.

“We are thrilled to have Mikko back here performing,” said Executive Director Nancy Haggenmiller. “How appropriate that it is Mikko who will be the first performance as we start to slowly bring back our activities and events.”

The Center reopened its doors on Feb. 1 and is slowly increasing the amount of activities, programs and services they offer with limited capacity.

Safety protocols are in place and will be communicated to all prior to entering and posted throughout the building.
