Not only will Blonde and the Bohunk entertain on the Douglas County Courthouse lawn at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, but sponsors will hand out free ice cream in honor of health care workers.

Sponsors Anderson Funeral Home, Bethany on the Lake, Eldens Fresh Foods, and Winning Edge Graphics want to thank all Alexandria area healthcare workers for helping the community get through COVID, says organizer Red Willow Arts Coalition.

“It’s been a challenging year and we have come a long way thanks to the collaboration of all of our partners in this amazing community,” said Matthew Fischer, Bethany on the Lake executive director. “Since these concerts are already so great at bringing the community together, we jumped at the chance to share our gratitude where so many are gathered.”

Craig Buysse, manager of Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory and Anderson’s on Broadway, thanked healthcare workers as well, adding, “I’d also like to share our deep condolences for all of those who lost lives (of family members) to COVID.”

Blonde and the Bohunk is a local rock and country cover band that performs at many events and private gigs.
