To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Evansville Art Center is hosting Poetry Night at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at 111 Main St. in Evansville. All poets are welcome to read their own poetry, or poetry by their favorite authors. Guests are also welcome to listen.
David Bengston, Marge Van Gorp, and many other regulars will be there and there may be some musical accompaniment.
To attend, request an appointment through the center's Facebook Event listing or call 218-948-2787 and leave a message. The center is restricted to 35 attendees; chairs will be grouped for social distancing. Masks will be required.
Because of the pandemic, the center will not offer a dessert table or coffee.
Funding comes from the Lake Region Arts Council through a state legislative appropriation.
