The public is invited to attend a Christmas Day dinner on Friday, Dec. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Alexandria. The dinner is free and open to all. A free-will donation will be accepted.
The dinner, complete with ham and Swedish meatballs, is offered for those who many not have anyone with whom to spend Christmas and seeks to give holiday cheer.
The community dinner was started more than 20 years ago. Last year, the church served a record of nearly 500 people.
