2019 Local Street and Kinkead Drive Improvements
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Alexandria City Council, at the Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway Street, Alexandria, Minnesota, until 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor, and all else necessary for the Alexandria 2019 Local Street and Kinkead Drive Improvements project in Alexandria, MN.
Major items include the following approximate quantities:
1,700 TONBituminous Pavement Mixture
11,700 SYBituminous Pavement Milling
1,500 SYFull Depth Bituminous Street Repair
1,400 LF Concrete Curb & Gutter
300SY6" Concrete Pavement (Driveway and Sidewalk)
180 SFTruncated Domes
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidder's bond acceptable to the Alexandria City Council in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the Alexandria City Council. If the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract; certified check or bidder's bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

Optional paper copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates, Inc. upon payment of $50.00 for each set which is not refundable.
All bids must be submitted on the official forms prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be securely sealed, endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made, and directed to the City Administrator.
Basis of bid award will be on total project cost. The Alexandria City Council reserves the right to adjust the total contract amount awarded by removing any bid schedules from the project as necessary to meet budget limits.
The Alexandria City Council reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the City deems in their best interest.
