NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMMEND THE DOUGLAS COUNTY
ZONING ORDINANCE AS IT
RELATES TO CLEARING AND GRADING OF LAND,
PLACEMENT OF RIP RAP, AND THE USE OF PERVIOUS
PAVEMENT IN THE RESIDENTIAL SHORELAND ZONING DISTRICT.
Please take notice that on the 8th day of June, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., the Douglas County Planning Advisory Commission will hold a public hearing at the County Public Works Facility Meeting Room, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308, on proposed amendments to Sections V and VIII of the Zoning Ordinance. The amendments propose to establish a permit requirement and standards for the placement of rock riprap in shore impact zones, establish a permit requirement and additional standards for vegetation clearing and soil grading in shoreland areas, and remove language referring to pervious pavement systems and/or the any credit that may be granted for such systems. Copies of the draft amendments are available in the Land and Resource Management Department and on the County website at www.co.douglas.mn.us.
