The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Alexandria School District, Alexandria, Minnesota, was called to order by School Board Chairperson Angie Krebs at 5:01 p.m. in the District Office Oak Conference Room, Alexandria, Minnesota.

DONATIONS AND GRANTS
To approve the submission of grant applications by Alexandria Public Schools to 3M, MN PBIS Northern Implementation Project and MDE and to approve the resolution for the following donations and grants:
RESOLUTION FOR ALEXANDRIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO
ACCEPT DONATIONS
AND GRANTS
WHEREAS, the Alexandria Public Schools Board encourages the support of the district's educational programs through the funding and support of grant opportunities and donations that meet the goals and objectives of the school district;
WHEREAS, the school district will control and maintain all grants and donations to ensure that the interests of all students are met;
WHEREAS, the grants and donations listed below have been reviewed and approved by the administration of the Alexandria Public Schools;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of the Alexandria Public Schools - No. 206, State of Minnesota, to accept the following grants and donations:
• Community Education and Compass received a donation of $1,200 from the Emily Parent Memorial to purchase water toys for Compass, PreK and elementary students.
• Community Education received a donation of $1,000 from the Michael George Memorial to purchase a new basketball hoop for the Woodland Elementary School playground.
• The Tennis program received a $500 donation from Douglas Machine, Inc. to support the boy's tennis program.
• Community Education and Early Education received a donation of $1,000 from GiveMN to support early education programming.
• AAHS, DMS and the High Potential Programs received a $10,200 grant from 3M to support STEM programming across the district.
• Discovery Middle School received a $1,000 grant from the MN PBIS Northern Implementation Project to supplement staffing costs for PBIS Action Planning for the 2021-22 school year.
• Food and Nutrition Services received a $11,201 grant from the MN Department of Agriculture to purchase food from local farmers for school meal programs.
EXTENDED FIELD TRIPS
To approve the following extended field trips:
• The Boys Varsity Golf Team traveled to Brooklyn Park, MN in April of 2021 to participate in a golf tournament at Edinburgh.
• The AAHS DECA students traveled to Bloomington, MN in April of 2021 to compete for the International DECA Competition.
• The Wrestling Team traveled to Foley, MN in March of 2021 to compete in the State Wrestling Tournament.
FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY
To approve the following fundraising activity:
• The Garfield PAC will host a Family Fun Day at the Garfield Elementary School to raise money for new playground equipment. Teams would pay an entrance fee and proceeds would go towards the cost of equipment.

CALLING FOR MILK PRODUCTS BIDS
To approve advertising for milk products bids for Alexandria Public School District 206 and Minnewaska Area School District 2149 for the 2021-2022 school year with the possibility of renewing for two additional one-year terms.
INCREASED SUMMER SCHOOL PAY RATES
To approve an increase to the teacher and paraprofessional summer school pay rates.

ADOPT RESOLUTION PLACING STAFF ON UNREQUESTED LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Motion by Dave Anderson, seconded by Susag, to adopt the following Resolution Placing Staff on Unrequested Leave of Absence:

WHEREAS, the School Board of Alexandria Public Schools - No. 206 adopted a resolution proposing placement of Jilene Foley, LaVon Kueffler, Shawn Knutson, Muriel Lindback, Julie Mindach and Tom Roos on unrequested leave of absence on April 19, 2021, on the grounds of Discontinuance of Position, Lack of Pupils and/or Financial Limitations; and
WHEREAS, said written notice of the proposed placement on unrequested leave was received by certified mail (or personal service) on May 3, 2021, and
WHEREAS, said written notice of the proposed placement on unrequested leave contained a statement setting forth the reasons for the proposed placement as well as a statement that he (she) was entitled to a hearing before the school board provided he (she) make a request in writing within fourteen days of receipt of said notice, and that if no hearing was requested within said fourteen day period it constituted acquiescence by Jilene Foley, LaVon Kueffler, Shawn Knutson, Muriel Lindback, Julie Mindach and Tom Roos to the school board's proposed action, and
WHEREAS, no written request of any kind was received by the school board or superintendent of schools from Jilene Foley, LaVon Kueffler, Shawn Knutson, Muriel Lindback, Julie Mindach and Tom Roos for a hearing as of May 17, 2021, and
WHEREAS, said failure to make written request for a hearing within fourteen days after receipt of notice of proposed placement on unrequested leave constitutes acquiescence by Jilene Foley, LaVon Kueffler, Shawn Knutson, Muriel Lindback, Julie Mindach and Tom Roos to his (her) placement on unrequested leave.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the School Board of Alexandria Public Schools - No. 206 that Jilene Foley, LaVon Kueffler, Shawn Knutson, Muriel Lindback, Julie Mindach and Tom Roos be and hereby is placed on unrequested leave of absence as a teacher of Alexandria Public Schools - No. 206 on the grounds of Discontinuance of Position, Lack of Pupils and/or Financial Limitations effective at the end of the 2020-2021 school year on June 30, 2021, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sec.122A.40, Subd. 11, without pay or fringe benefits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a notice of placement on unrequested leave, together with a copy of this resolution be forwarded to said teacher personally and that an affidavit of same be placed in his/her file, together with a copy of the notice and resolution.

A copy of the resolution duly adopted by the School Board is attached hereto for your information.
If a position becomes available in a field in which you are licensed, at any time up to 5 years after your leave is effective, you may have a right to reinstatement to that position if you have sufficient seniority in the district and if you filed a written request for reinstatement prior to April 1 of each year while you are on leave. If you do not file such a request each year, your right to reinstatement will be automatically terminated.
Please keep the school district's personnel office advised in writing of your address at all times until your rights have expired, so that the district may notify you of any available positions for which you may qualify.
