Public Hearing Publish Sept 2, 2022 Notice of Public Hearing Pursuant to Section 10.23 of the Alexandria City Code, the Alexandria Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 7:20 pm in the Alexandria City Hall to consider the Conditional Use Permit application for VIE Church. The applicant is requesting to allow the construction of a new worship facility seating approximately 431 individuals, extensive kids and family areas, as well as a gym with two basketball courts. Also under consideration is using the new facility as a daycare center during the week. The existing church building at 3020 Rosewood Ln SE is to remain and be used as a youth center accessory to the new facility. The property is located in an R-1 “Single Family Residential” zoning district. The three existing parcels are to be combined into a single 24+ acre parcel. The site includes the vacant land west and south of the existing VIE Church located at 3020 Rosewood Ln SE. Notice of this hearing has been mailed to all property owners of record within 350 feet of the property in question. The public is invited to attend this hearing.
