"We can attach a body camera with a live feed back to our cell phone or we mount a cell phone to the front and use a communication app to see and verbally communicate from a safe location," said APD Sergeant Brian Kakach.
Law enforcement students use the buildings to train for various scenarios, from search warrant procedures and perimeter checks to domestic issues and crime scene investigations.
"Swatting" is defined as a fraudulent call to emergency services in an attempt to bring a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.
APD is using Leads Online, a computerized pawn shop transaction database that compares what is bought and sold with an inventory of reported stolen items.
