Shawn Beto of Wahpeton, North Dakota, won both Short Trackers features in the Labor Day Doublehead at Viking Speedway on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4. Brendan Blascyk of Hoffman kept up his winning ways with a feature win and a runner-up finish in the Midwest Mods.
Hoffman native Brendan Blascyk won his first career season points title by edging out Travis Saurer of Elizabeth, who won Saturday's feature, by one point. Blasyck, along with Brady Gerdes of Villard, Ryan Satter of Dent, Trevor Saurer of Elizabeth and Kevin Wahl of Fergus Falls are the 2022 Viking Speedway season points champions.
Shawn Robinson of Dalton won the Short Trackers feature on the Short Tracker Special Plus Kids Night at the Viking Speedway,
Jason Thoennes of Garfield captures the win in the Modified feature, while Dent native Ryan Satter wins his sixth feature of the season.
Farwell's Dennis Bitzan finished in the top five of the season point standings 22 times during his 30-year racing career at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria. A look back on his life at the track before he and Alexandria's Elaine Thoennes are honored on Hall of Fame Night on July 30.

The Villard driver said he needed some luck to swing his way after the July 2 races when his first win of the season slipped away on the last lap. Everything came together a week later as Gerdes won the main event during the Advantage RV Modified Tour and Fallen Lineman Special Night.
This weekend epitomized how close things are between these two local drivers as Bitzan held off Gerdes in a photo finish at Fergus Falls on Friday night before taking a second win in Alexandria on Saturday after an electrical malfunction on Gerdes' car cost him a win on the final lap.
Brendan Blascyk, Ryan Satter, Trevor Saurer, Brady Gerdes and Kevin Wahl sit as point leaders through the June 18 races.
