Annie Moses Band, six siblings whose instruments include the harp and electric guitar, will kick off the Central Lakes Concert Association’s 2019-2020 season on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Known as a classical-crossover group, the band’s tour title is “Copland to Cash: The Grit and Grandeur of the American Spirit.” Its repertoire includes root music like “Hoedown” and spirituals as well as the show tunes of George Gershwin. The band name comes from their great-grandmother, who picked cotton in north Texas to save money for piano lessons for her daughter.

Annie Moses Band has recorded over a dozen albums, produced PBS specials and performed on stages at Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.

The band will perform in the Tastefully Simple Performing Arts Center at the Alexandria Area High School. You must be a member of the Central Lakes Concert Association to attend. For more information, call Kathi Haug at 320-815-8979.
