Elaine Koyama, author of "Let Me In," about her struggle to break into the corporate jungle, will speak and sign books on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2-4 p.m. at Cherry Street Books, 503 Broadway in Alexandria.

Koyama, the youngest of eight siblings, grew up on a farm in eastern Montana, graduated from Stanford University and spent 20 years at Cargill. Her book details her struggle to rise in management of a large corporation in the 1970s before the term “glass ceiling” was invented.

She is now embarking on a writing career and offers writing workshops and retreats at her home on Lake Irene.
