The Viking Library System has announced the hours for its Bookmobile, a traveling library that visits towns throughout Douglas and five other counties.

The Bookmobile offers fiction, nonfiction, movies, audio books and magazines for all ages, and users can request books from participating libraries. Last year, they checked out 80,474 items, up from 77,399 the year before, said Erin Smith, director of the Fergus Falls-based system.

"It's basically a mini-library on wheels," she said.

In Douglas County, the bookmobile stops in Evansville, Garfield, Brandon, Kensington, Holmes City, Nelson, Osakis, Millerville, Miltona and Carlos. Stops just outside the county include Parkers Prairie, Hoffman and Farwell.

Each stop gets a visit two or three times per month. For dates and times, stop by the Douglas County Library or visit www.viking.lib.mn.us/bookmobile-schedule.
