The Douglas County Courthouse concerts will begin to wind down the season with some jazz.
The Jazz Committee with Alexandrian Jack Anderson will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, on the courthouse lawn in Alexandria.
It's the second-to-the-last summer concert put on by The Red Willow Arts Coalition. Anderson, a veteran of multiple Courthouse Lawn appearances with Jazz Dot Combo, is now a student at Concordia College. He'll be joined by musicians from Fargo-Moorhead collegiate music programs.
The concerts are sponsored by Anderson Funeral Home and Elden's Fresh Foods, as well as nightly sponsors. Thursday's music is sponsored by Bell State Bank.
Red Willow encourages concert-goers to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Proceeds from popcorn sales will support a new playground for Miltona Science Magnet School.
