ALEXANDRIA — Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County is seeking bids on three three-bedroom homes and one four-bedroom home, with construction to begin in April.
The city has never hit the $100 million mark before, so 2022 will go in the books as the city's biggest construction year yet.

The project calls for a new public road, and extensions of sewer, water, natural gas and fiber-optic infrastructure, all at the developer's expense. The total cost of the improvements is estimated at between $4 to $5 million.
Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Douglas County Public Works and City of Alexandria were on-hand to answer questions from the more than 60 people who attended the meeting in person and several more who attended via Zoom.
Crews are currently working on the stair and elevator towers for the $25 million project.
