Scholarships
St. Cloud State University student Olivia Mikkelson of Alexandria was awarded the Charles and Ellora Alliss Scholarship and the SCSU Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year. The Alliss scholarship goes to undergraduate Minnesota residents who enroll full-time, have displayed a high level of academic achievement, and demonstrate a calculated financial need. The SCSU Scholarship goes to undergraduate students enrolled full-time who show financial need and scholastic achievement.
Honors
- Alexandria Area High School seniors Bryant Johnson and Ethan Johnson have been named Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. They joined about 34,000 other Commended Students throughout the nation who are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2021 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Bemidji State University announced that several local students earned degrees following the spring semester. Alexandria: Noah Hittle, bachelor of science; Jack Nettleton, bachelor of science; Luke Schmitz, bachelor of science; Derrick Thingvold, bachelor of science; Alexis Wagner, master of special education. Evansville: Stephanie Froemming, master of arts in teaching and a graduate level certificate; Robert Juul, bachelor of science, cum laude. Osakis: Mikayla Asfeld, bachelor of applied science, summa cum laude; CeCealia Schultz, bachelor of science, magna cum laude.
