Racial tension, political unrest, a pandemic – all of these issues add up to challenging times for responders and caregivers who have stressful careers even during the best of times.
For those reasons, the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a presentation, “Building a Community of Support for Responders” on Monday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 2:15 p.m. at the Broadway Ballroom. Tickets cost $15. Virtual attendance is also available. Visit www.alexandriamn.org for details.
The speaker is Silouan Green, a former Marine who suffered severe post-traumatic stress and other issues after a jet crash. He’s written three books – "Who Am I?”, “Sycamore Hill” and “The Ladder UPP.”
Green has spoken across the country for organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the U.S. Marine Corps, the Red Cross, Easter Seals, National Association of Mental Illness and others.
Reserve you spot by contacting the chamber at 320-763-3161 or emailing jess@alexandriamn.org by Friday, Sept. 25. This is a speaker only event; no food will be served.
