Someplace Safe tea moves online

Each April, Someplace Safe in Alexandria hosts a TEA fundraiser to support its work supporting survivors of domestic violence and other crimes.

With the coronavirus pandemic closing everything down, however, organizers had to think of other ways to generate revenue.

Now, saying the need has never been greater, it is holding its 11th annual Spring Tea: A Non-Event Fundraiser online.

Supporters can buy $25 tickets at its non-event at events.idonate.com/alexspringtea or make a donation at www.someplacesafe.info/donate and select “Spring Tea Fundraiser-Alexandria." Donations can also be made via texting “@sps” to 52014.

It is also holding a virtual silent auction every Saturday throughout April at facebook.com/someplacesafe.
