For the 27th year, the streets of Osakis will be filled with gleaming automobiles from bygone eras, bringing back fond memories of the good old days.
Roddin' Round the Lake - a two day event organized by the Central Lakes Cruzers of Osakis - will take place this Friday and Saturday, July 13-14.
Activities begin Friday with a social night and customer appreciation feed from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Free pulled pork sandwiches, along with dessert, will be served at NAPA Auto Parts, 204 E. Nokomis St. The public is invited.
The Roddin' Round the Lake Show-n-Shine will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday with registration and will continue until 2:30 p.m. Between 120 and 130 vintage cars, some from as far back as the 1930s, will be on display on Main Street.
Entrance to the show is free and there is fun for the whole family. The club asks that visitors not bring animals or bicycles to avoid scratching the classic cars.

Many of the owners will be on hand to answer questions.
"If someone wants information about a particular car, 95 percent of the owners will be more than willing to talk to them," noted Wayne Karl, president of the Central Lakes Cruzers.
Doors for a celebrity auction at the Pollard Community Center will open at 9 a.m., followed by the auction at 10 a.m. Games for children will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Throughout the day, music by "Bullet Bob" DJ Entertainment will add to the nostalgic feel of the show.
The club will give out awards, sponsored by area businesses, at 2:30 p.m. After that, cars will cruise over to the Galeon parking lot so nursing home residents can take a look.
The Central Lakes Cruzers boasts 42 members, an impressive total for a smaller-sized town, and its Roddin' Round the Lake event draws hundreds from around the area. Why are so many people intrigued by vintage automobiles?
Karl said the vehicles harken back to a time when cars were crafted with distinctly different looks.
"Back then, there was so much style and chrome," he said. "Now days, all the cars look like shoeboxes. Until you see the emblem on the front, you don't know what it is."

Vintage vehicles also bring back pleasant memories.
"It's fun for people at the show to tell their grandkids - I used to have a car like this," Karl said.
