What's Easter without an Easter egg hunt? A local business is urging Alexandria area residents to put Easter eggs in their windows that kids can then snap photos of and submit for a chance to win the Golden Egg.
"We care about the community and we care about the families that are not able to gather to celebrate the holiday," North Country Counseling said on its website. "We understand! It shouldn't be this way, but let's try to make the best of it!"
North Country Counseling, with an office in the Tastefully Simple complex, said homes can post their windows at #ncccaresegghunt. Families with children under age 12 can then drive around anytime on Sunday, snap pictures of the windows they find with eggs, plus a picture of their family on the hunt, and send them to charline@northcountrycounseling.net by Easter Monday.
"So far we have three businesses donating prizes and I'm continuing to reach out to whoever I can think for the next couple of days," said Charline Bengtson, a therapist with North County. "As for families and businesses putting up eggs, I have had hundreds of people willing to do that piece!"
The child who found the most eggs will win the Golden Egg, filled with prizes from local businesses. One window counts for one egg.
