The Fishbowl Water Carnival was a three-day festival held July 4-6 in 1947. It celebrated the “Fishbowl Cities” of Alexandria, Glenwood, and Osakis. The carnival consisted of various activities including a parade, boat races, swimming and diving contests, fireworks over Lake Agnes, a street dance and a trick horse exhibition. A contest was held to name the Queen of the Fishbowl Water Carnival, which drew 21 contestants. The winner was Audrey Tollefson (left), who is pictured along with her attendant, Marjorie Moen. Tollefson went on to represent the Fishbowl Water Carnival at the Minneapolis Aquatennial.
