For the third year in a row, Tom Slack, owner of Slack Painting from Evansville, hosted an ice skating day in Brandon.

Slack Painting Skate Day drew about 100 people, half of which were kids, to the ice skating rink at Lions Park in Brandon on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The event included a free lunch, hot chocolate, coffee and fresh doughnuts, and was free. Donations were accepted on behalf of the Millerville Fire Department, and about $500 was raised.

Kids were able to enter a drawing for numerous prizes, including many Minnesota Wild items. Hockey sticks and pucks, along with Slack Painting stocking caps, sweatshirts and hats, were also given away during the door prize drawings.

Every child that attended received a prize.
