The Legacy of the Lakes Museum's annual boat show is moving to the museum site in downtown Alexandria this weekend.

The Summer Showcase opens Friday with a private VIP social for those showing boats or cars the following day.

The first "Music in the Gardens" concert of the year is at 7 p.m. Friday, with gates opening a half-hour earlier. Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome, a 12-piece horn band from Fargo-Moorhead, is the main attraction. Spectators must be 21 and over, and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The big event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, when the boats and cars will be on display throughout the museum's campus. A People's Choice award for best boat and best car will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

Live music and entertainment in the Legacy Gardens will feature Tuesday Night Club, the Quad Squad from Quad A, and more. Kids' games and inflatables are also on the docket.
