Tom and Terry Toenjes 50th Wedding Anniversary

Tom and Terry Toenjes were married at St. Patrick’s Church in Sauk Rapids on June 13, 1970. The couple resided in Belle River until building a house in Carlos in 1974, where they still live today. Since their marriage began, Tom and Terry have breathed life and love into the Carlos community and surrounding area.

They have served their community faithfully – Tom served as Mayor of Carlos for several years, and Terry founded the first First Responders unit in Douglas County. They have enjoyed countless hours on the Alexandria area lakes where they have laughed with family and friends and taught their children and grandchildren to fish. Today, the couple enjoys retirement by camping, drinking Busch Light, and laughing until they cry surrounded by the family that admires them endlessly. Tom and Terry are blessed with one daughter, Vicki, one son, Keith, and three granddaughters, Lindsay, Madison, and Bethany. Their family admires Tom and Terry for the love they share, stating that the two “still look at each other with stars in their eyes.”
