Habitat dedicates home in Alexandria

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County will host a virtual dedication of a new home in Alexandria on Monday, Dec. 14.

It will be the nonprofit's second dedication of an home in 2020 and one of three that were constructed this year. Habitat has also started building a fourth.

The virtual event will be held live on Habitat’s Facebook page at 4:30 p.m. and will include a tour of the home. The event is at www.facebook.com/HFHdouglasCoMN .

This house was built by 113 volunteers who contributed over 1,250 hours. It's the second home dedicated in Douglas County in 2020.

Since 1997, Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County has built or renovated 72 houses and completed 26 Aging in Place projects throughout Douglas County.

Qualified home buyers purchase the homes from Habitat with affordable mortgages, volunteers provide most of the labor and individuals, organizations, churches, foundations and businesses donate money, land and materials.
