Candlelight and moonlight will guide snowshoers and skiers at Lake Carlos State Park on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 6-9 p.m.
Some trails winding through the park are groomed for skiing, while others are designated for snowshoeing. The park will supply snacks and refreshments in the Lakeview warming shelter, and its wood stove will be going.
Candles will light up two miles of ski trail and 1.3 miles of snowshoe trail, including a special snowshoe area accessible only in the winter. Ski trails require the purchase of ski passes. Snowshoes can be rented at the park office, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Another moonlit event is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29.
Visitors who need an accommodation may contact park naturalist Ben Eckhoff at firstname.lastname@example.org or 320-852-7200.
