Spooking around Douglas County won't wait for Halloween. As early as this weekend, scare-seekers will be able to choose from a variety of Halloween-related activities.

Catch the macabre adult-focused "Unwrap Your Candy" from 7:30-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26, put on by Fire Pit Productions at Lakes Area Theatre.

Tykes can listen to a tamer tale at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 when the Storyman from England tells “Messing with Monsters” at the Douglas County Library. The Storyman, professional storyteller Brian Poultan, will draw the children into an interactive program.

Also Saturday, Oct. 26, Brandon will throw its Community Halloween Party from 5-7 p.m. in the Brandon Auditorium.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, Nordic Meadows will offer trick or treating and other activities from 2-3:30 p.m. along with The Windmill Project. The Carlos Community Center will hold a Youth Halloween Party from 4-6:30 p.m with games and a bike giveaway.

Wrapping up the early spooking will be the Runestone Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 2-4 p.m. with the Great Pumpkin Hunt, during which the admission fee will be waived.
