Block party in Brandon to raise money for Douglas County Relay for Life event

A "Block Party" to raise funds for Relay for Life of Douglas County is set to take place tonight, Friday, June 25.

The event, labeled as "Communities coming together to celebrate and remember" will be held at the Brandon Lions Park from 5 to 9 p.m.

The opening program will take place at 6 p.m. with a balloon release to take place at 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners will be announced at 8 p.m. and a lighting of luminary bags ceremony will take place at 8:30 p.m.

There will also be music, food, games for kids with prizes and a raffle/silent auction.

All money generated from the event will go to the Douglas County Relay for Life event, which will be taking place on Friday, July 9, in Alexandria. Watch the Echo Press for more details about the event.
