A flurry of bean bags arced through the air of the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center’s indoor tennis courts last weekend, March 5-7.

The Mankato Area Cornhole, MAC, held a three-day “MAC Attack” cornhole tournament that drew more than 75 teams. Events included doubles, singles, four-player and mixed co-ed competitions.

The group started back in 2013 and travels all around for tournaments that draw bean bag players from near and far, according to Jason Zuehlke, MAC director.

This was the first time MAC had an event in Alexandria and because of the good turnout and Arrowwood’s accommodations, it plans to return for a summer tournament, Zuehlke said.

MAC sells shirts and jerseys at the competitions and the proceeds go toward homeless veterans.

“We’re big on giving back to veterans,” Zuehlke said.
