The Alexandria Area Community Foundation, in partnership with CommunityGiving, has received $17,100 in funding through the Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund for coronavirus relief.
The grant, as well as contributions to the Alexandria Response Fund, will go to support local relief efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, AATC said it plans wide-scale initiatives to help meet critical basic needs as well as sustaining local organizations providing critical services through recovery.
"The partnership of the MDRF funding and the Alexandria Response Fund will support both the immediate and long-term community needs resulting from this pandemic," said AACF Executive Director Holly Witt.

AACF attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local Alexandria area. Since 1992, AACF has grown to surpass $4.8 million in assets and awarded more $3.9 million in grants to nonprofits.

CommunityGiving and its partner foundations were awarded $150,000 from the MDRF to support COVID-19 pandemic relief programming in areas it serves.
