Alexandria Rotary Club offers clean-up event on Saturday, June 26

For a nominal fee, items from Alexandria residents can be taken to the Alexandria Technical and Community College truck driver training grounds on North Nokomis Street.

Attention residents of Alexandria: Here’s a way to get rid of broken-down furniture, electronics, TVs, mattresses and other items cluttering up your home.

The Alexandria Rotary Club , in partnership with Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management , is offering a clean-up event on Saturday, June 26 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. For a nominal fee, items can be taken to the Alexandria Technical and Community College truck driver training grounds on North Nokomis Street.

Items that will be accepted include:

Mattresses/bulky furniture (fees apply).

Mattress/box spring – $10.

Recliner – $10.

Couch/Sofa – $15.

Appliances (donations appreciated).

Freon style – (refrigerator, air conditioning unit, dehumidifier, freezer, etc) – donation of $10 or more is appreciated.

Non-freon style – (oven/stove, microwave, dryer/washer, etc) – donation of $5 or more is appreciated.

No water softeners or tanks will be accepted.

Small Style – coffee pot/vacuum/toaster/bread maker/etc. – donation of $1 or more is appreciated.

Electronics/e-waste (fees apply).

ADVERTISEMENT

All other miscellaneous e-waste with no screens (VCR/stereo/computer/etc.) – $3.

Screens 7″ to 27″ – $10.

Screens 27″ or more – $20.

Projection/console – $25.

All donations up and beyond the fees will go toward Rotary Club projects and programs that keep the community vibrant and healthy.
