The recent increase in COVID-19 cases caused the library to make a temporary adjustment to curbside only service to protect the health of its staff and those visiting the library.
“We know people of all ages are reading and watching movies more than ever during this pandemic,” said Library Director Dawn Dailey. “Our staff will do its best to fill requests quickly and have them available for pick up right outside the library’s front door, but you must call ahead to set up a pickup time. This is to ensure we have your items ready and you do not have to wait.”
Those looking for library materials may visit the website at douglascountylibrary.org. After logging in and using a library card number, patrons can select items for checkout. Those without internet access may call the library directly.
Once a person has been notified by the library that the items are ready, the individual must call the library at 320-762-3014 to arrange a day and time to pick up the items.
“This system worked great this spring, and we know it will work great again,” Dailey said. “We thank everyone in advance for their flexibility and willingness to work through this trying time together.”
Curbside service will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the book drop will be available at all hours.
