4-H youth trained as camp counselors
Callie Taveirne was selected as a 2018 4-H camp counselor from Douglas County, one of 28 chosen for the role from 12 counties.
The youths attended a nine-hour camp counselor training at the West Central Research and Outreach Center near Morris. They will be able to serve as counselors at Minnesota 4-H camps year round. The training teaches counselors to help youth experience increased levels of responsibility and develop their self-esteem while providing a safe, respectful and engaging experience for campers.
